For those who are allergic to certain foods or vegans, today’s phrases are very useful for eating in Japan.
For example, let’s say you are allergic to nuts and want to check if the dish you want to order contains nuts.
これ(kore) means “this” in English.
ナッツ(nattsu) is nuts, and
入っていますか(haitteimasuka) means it include or contain.
For example, if you want to ask if the dish contains meat,
これ、お肉入っていますか?(Kore oniku haitteimasuka?)
Does this contain meat?
Meat is 肉(niku) in Japanese.
If you want to tell the waiter that you are allergic to nuts, you can say,
ナッツ アレルギーがあります。(Nattsu arerugi ga arimasu)
I am allergic to nuts.
